Welcome Class of 2026!
Hello
4th Graders and Families!
We
are so pleased you chose Southwest Preparatory. It will be a new and
exciting year! You will be studying Math, Language Arts, Science and Social
Studies, along with lots of technology, and exploring and learning together in
our amazing Smart Lab. Weekly pullouts include Physical Education,
Spanish, and Fine Arts. Our instruction approach combines traditional
classroom methodologies, along with team teaching. I teach Math to the 4th
and 5th graders, and Mrs. Mora will be the Language Arts instructor
for those grades. We also work with our 6th grade teachers for
our Fine Arts rotations, so students will have several teachers this year!
I
have been teaching since 2003, and have taught 1st and 4th
grade, and children with severe needs. Teaching is my
passion! I am a continual learner of new teaching methods and ways
to engage and challenge students. Working with parents as our partners,
our goals are to help students:
§ Attain high academic achievement
§ Develop a positive sense of self
§ Cultivate a love of learning
§ Be kind and model good citizenship
My
hubby and I have three boys: my oldest is going into the Air Force, my middle
son is in college pursuing his teaching degree, and my youngest is a senior at
Southwest Secondary. We have two Golden Retrievers and a little black
kitty. We love getting outdoors, watching football, and family dinners
together! I can’t wait to get to know you and your families.
